Un día como hoy, hace 51 años, los esbirros, los asesinos, del Ejército de los yanquis aquí en Nicaragua, que era el Ejército de Somoza, 3 de Septiembre de 1971, en La Tronca, Matagalpa, asesinaron a un Hermano Querido que vive en nuestros corazones, que vive en los Cantos del Pueblo, a un Dirigente Campesino que había logrado sobrevivir a Pancasán, y luego lo capturaron con otros Compañeros y los asesinaron: Bernardino Díaz Ochoa, un Héroe de nuestra Patria, un Héroe Campesino, un Luchador inclaudicable.

Querida Ministra de Defensa de la República de Nicaragua, Compañera Rosa Adelina Barahona Castro; Querido Director General de la Policía Nacional, Primer Comisionado Francisco Javier Díaz Madriz; Queridos Hermanos, Presidente de la Asamblea Nacional, Doctor Gustavo Porras, que está en León, hasta León saludamos a Gustavo; bueno, Gustavo tiene que estar haciendo giras a los Departamentos constantemente. Recordemos lo que es el tema de la Salud, y él está al frente de lo que es el Sistema de Salud en nuestro País, y eso no se puede descuidar.
Presidenta de la Corte Suprema de Justicia, Doctora Alba Luz Ramos Vanegas… ¿Está Alba Luz? Anda legislando. Vicepresidente del Consejo Supremo Electoral, Magistrado Cairo Amador; Fiscal General de la República, Ana Julia Guido Ochoa; Procuradora General de la República, Doctora Wendy Carolina Morales Urbina… Muy bien, Wendy, disciplinada siempre, firme, ¡siempre Valiente!

Queridos Hermanos, Cuerpo de Generales y Oficiales Superiores, Miembros del Consejo Militar del Ejército de Nicaragua; Oficiales del Ejército de Nicaragua en la honrosa de condición de Retiro; Miembros de la Jefatura Nacional de la Policía Nacional; Ministros, Directores de Entes Autónomos; Alcaldes; Funcionarios de las Instituciones del Estado y del Gobierno; Representantes de Sectores y Entidades.
Familiares de nuestro General Sandino; Representantes del Cuerpo Diplomático; Oficiales ascendidos y sus apreciadas Familias; Familiares de Oficiales caídos en cumplimiento del Deber; Bloques de Tropas de las Unidades Militares del Ejército de Nicaragua; Mujeres y Hombres de los Medios de Comunicación, e Invitados Especiales.
Este es el 43 Aniversario del Ejército de Nicaragua, un Ejército ya consolidado, un Ejército con una Fortaleza que lo da la larga Historia que recorrimos ayer y que vino forjando a este Ejército que hoy es un Ejército firme, sólido, bien preparado, y dispuesto a asumir todas las tareas que las condiciones del País demanden.
Yo les hablo desde este sitio a los Campesinos que están allá en las riberas del Río Coco, que ahí siembran, que tienen un poco de ganado, que tienen sus actividades económicas, comerciales. Son Comunidades que van a lo largo del Río Coco y que tienen ahí como cabecera a Waspam, y luego está Cabo Gracias a Dios.
Cuánto se ha logrado hacer y se está haciendo en esa increíble obra que va con la Carretera, yendo en dirección hacia las intersecciones entre Waspam y Bilwi; una Carretera que no está construida con piedrín, sino que es Carretera construida con concreto. Los Puentes que se están levantando a lo largo de esa Carretera, Puentes que nadie se podía imaginar ver alguna vez construidos.
Los Hermanos de la Costa eran Hermanos marginados, y fue la Revolución la que empezó a incorporarlos, el Gobierno Revolucionario a incorporarlos, en condiciones difíciles, porque fueron condiciones de guerra después del Triunfo de la Revolución.
Pero fíjense el valor de la Paz… En la medida que fuimos instalando una Nueva Etapa de Paz, desde el año 2007 hasta el año 2018 se fueron multiplicando las Carreteras, los Caminos, las Viviendas; se fueron multiplicando las Escuelas, los Puestos de Salud, los Centros de Salud, los Hospitales; se fue multiplicando el respaldo al Campesino, la capacitación del Campesino para elevar la productividad de los Granos Básicos, para elevar la productividad en la Ganadería, para elevar la productividad en la actividad porcina, en todas las actividades donde está el Campesino produciendo.
Y ese Período de Paz nos permitió construir la Carretera a San Carlos. Esa Carretera era una ilusión, era una promesa de todo el tiempo, y la hicimos realidad esa Carretera a San Carlos.
Luego empezamos a trabajar en la Carretera hacia Laguna Perlas, Bluefields, toda esa zona, que uniera el Pacífico y que permitiera más desarrollo económico a lo largo de esas zonas donde miles de Familias Campesinas trabajaban con las uñas, y ya con la Carretera podían llegar los Programas, podían llegar los insumos, y podían ellos facilitar el comercio para trasladar mercadería, productos a Managua, y para llevar también productos de Managua hacia allá.
Primera vez en la Historia que se une esa Zona del Caribe, la Capital de la Región Autónoma del Caribe Sur primera vez en la Historia que se una por Carretera. Antes ya sabemos cuál era la ruta, o por avión, con costos elevadísimos, o por el Río Rama, caro también el transporte por el Rama, era caro, y lento, porque ahí navegando por el Río Rama hasta llegar a Bluefields, porque no habían Carreteras, sí, no existían Carretera hacia la Costa del Caribe de Nicaragua, mucho menos que existieran estas Carreteras y estos gigantescos Puentes que estamos construyendo ya hacia la Costa del Caribe Norte.
Yo veo los Puentes y me resulta increíble, son Puentes de primera calidad, Puentes de enormes extensiones, y eso lógicamente lleva más Vida, lleva más actividad económica, lleva Educación, lleva Salud, porque permite instalar Escuelas, instalar Puestos de Salud, en esas Comunidades, en esas Zonas donde no se podía acceder si no era por tierra en largos trechos, o por pangas, porque en la Costa del Caribe hay cantidad de Municipios, de Comunidades que están aisladas y solo se puede llegar o por río o por mar.
Una verdadera Revolución en el transporte, en beneficio de la Economía, en beneficio de la Salud, en Beneficio de la Educación, porque dónde construir Escuelas si ni siquiera habían Caminos ni Carreteras. Y hablo del Caribe, porque la verdad es que nos honra a l@s nicaragüenses que estemos dando este paso extraordinario, donde ya está bien avanzada la construcción de un gran Hospital allá en el Caribe, un Hospital de primera línea. Y la pesca, animando la pesca en aquellas Zonas del Caribe.
Y luego, si recorremos ya la Zona Central de nuestro País y la Zona del Pacífico, cuenten las Carreteras que se han construido, que se construyeron y que incluso inauguramos algunas, como el Paso de Desnivel, en medio del golpismo, en el año 2018. ¡Aquí no se detuvo el trabajo! El Golpismo, el terrorismo no lograron detener el Espíritu de Trabajo de l@s nicaragüenses.
Claro que hubo una sacudida que entorpeció Proyectos que pudiesen haber caminado más rápido, porque el golpismo, el terrorismo son enemigos de los pobres. No quieren Escuelas para los pobres, no quieren Salud para los pobres, no quieren alimentación para los pobres. Todo lo quieren solamente para ellos. Y aquí tenemos una Práctica Revolucionaria, Cristiana, que és la Solidaridad, que és un Principio Cristiano, de amarnos los unos a los otros como a nosotros mismos.
Y la cantidad de Viviendas que hemos venido construyendo del 2007 hasta esta fecha. Y seguimos construyendo. Y se construirán miles de Viviendas con la Cooperación de la Hermana República Popular China. Y seguiremos construyendo también miles de Viviendas con los recursos del Estado nicaragüense, combinando con las Alcaldías, con el Programa Bismarck Martínez.
Fíjense, Herman@s nicaragüenses que nos están escuchando en toda Nicaragua, ¿qué nos permitió avanzar tanto? ¡La Paz! ¿Qué es lo que intentó destruir lo que estábamos construyendo, porque destruyeron? Ellos siempre han sido destructores, en los años 80 minaron nuestros Puertos, destruyeron centros de almacenamiento de petróleo; lo que ha pasado en Cuba ahora, un accidente, pues aquí fue provocado por la CIA, los Agentes de la CIA colocaron bombas allí para provocar ese incendio y que nos quedásemos sin petróleo.
Fíjense bien todos ustedes, ¿qué hubiese pasado si no hubiésemos detenido la arremetida terrorista? Nicaragua estaría en estos momentos en guerra, destruida, pero no podíamos permitirlo y se restauró el orden, como debía restaurarse, ¡se restauró el orden!
Y al restaurarse el orden, al desaparecer los tranques donde asesinaban a Mujeres, Niños, Hombres, Policías, no Policías, donde los quemaban, donde los garroteaban, los torturaban, no podíamos permitir que continuaran con esos actos de barbarie, con el aplauso de la oligarquía.
Porque la oligarquía que hasta ese momento había estado caminando en una Gran Alianza con el Gobierno y con los Trabajadores, sencillamente, cuando se trató de ajustar el salario y los ingresos de la Seguridad Social, lo que significaba tocarle la bolsa a los ricos, a los capitalistas, entonces ahí rompieron y se lanzaron en planes que ya venían premeditados, en presiones y amenazas que tenían del Gobierno yanqui, que si no rompían la Alianza con el Gobierno Sandinista les iban a aplicar las Sanciones.
Muchos de estos Empresarios que se lanzaron en contra nuestra después de haber estado en Alianza, llevando muy buenas relaciones, se vieron obligados a hacerlo porque los yanquis les amenazaron con congelarles los fondos que tenían allá en los Estados Unidos, y por lo tanto destruirles sus empresas y sus negocios.
Llegaron al extremo de amenazarlos también con no permitir que hijos de muchos de estos Empresarios que estudiaban o estudian en los Estados Unidos, ellos no iban a permitir que siguieran estudiando y que los iban a expulsar de los Estados Unidos; o sea, una actitud totalmente criminal y cobarde de parte de los yanquis.
Pero se restableció el orden, fue muy importante ahí la combinación del Ejército resguardando los puntos estratégicos que ellos intentaban destruir, incluyendo, tenían como blanco los almacenes de medicamentos, los tenían como blanco para destruirlos. Y cubriendo puntos estratégicos el Ejército, librando la Policía una lucha heroica, porque, cuando la condición que pusieron ahí los que estaban al frente, los que estaban organizando y dirigiendo, era que la Policía no saliera.
Entonces dijimos nosotros: Bueno, talvez no quieren que la Policía salga, tienen temor y no quieren que la Policía los vaya a agredir, entonces, está bien que se quede la Policía en los Cuarteles. ¿Y qué hicieron? Empezaron a atacar los Cuarteles todos los días, todos los días, y la Policía en un acto de disciplina, cuando su Deber era reaccionar y controlar a los que estaban atacando las Estaciones de Policía, todos los días.
Al final, no quedó más camino que decirle a la Policía que había que resguardar el orden, ya no se podía aguantar tanto crimen, no se podía permitir la destrucción de la Economía. Tenían trancada Centroamérica, sí, porque al trancar los pasos aquí y tener aquí tranques en las ciudades, lógicamente el transporte de mercadería de los Países Centroamericanos se obstaculizaba, o quedaban entrampados ahí por días, por semana, y reclamando lógicamente con toda razón.
Al final no quedó más alternativa, como dijo Rugama, que la lucha, para poner el orden, de acuerdo con la Ley, de acuerdo con la Constitución, porque eso lo manda la Constitución de cualquier País del Mundo. Y allí la Policía, con la Policía Voluntaria, rápidamente despejaron los tranques y capturaron a los criminales, o a una parte de los criminales.
¡Fueron meses difíciles! ¿Qué podían pensar muchos nicaragüenses? Ahora vamos para atrás. Pero ese momento lo que hizo fue llenar de más fortaleza, de más coraje, de más creatividad a nuestro Pueblo, y retomamos con fuerza el trabajo para recuperar la Economía, para estabilizar las actividades productivas y seguir construyendo Carreteras, seguir construyendo Caminos.
Y llegó el COVID, y no nos detuvimos, seguimos trabajando, seguimos trabajando, y la Economía nicaragüense logró irse estabilizando y luego creciendo. Y hoy, Gracias a Dios, somos una Economía en crecimiento, donde se multiplican las Escuelas, los Puestos de Salud, los Puestos de Protección para las Mujeres; es decir, los Emprendimientos, la Juventud lanzada por todos lados en actividades de Emprendimiento.
Y hay Alegría en Nicaragua, claro que hay Alegría, este es un País lleno de Alegría, lleno de Esperanza, y eso provoca amargura y envenena más a aquellos que quieren ver a Nicaragua destruida. Son los que viven pidiendo que de una vez los yanquis destruyan las relaciones económicas con Nicaragua.
Pero Nicaragua tiene relaciones económicas con todo el Mundo, y hemos establecido relaciones ahora con el País que ha tenido la economía de mayor crecimiento en la Historia de la Humanidad, la República Popular China, y agradecemos a la República Popular China su Solidaridad con el Pueblo nicaragüense.
Y lógicamente la Solidaridad de los Pueblos Hermanos, Venezuela, Cuba, los Pueblos del ALBA; la Cooperación, el intercambio que tenemos con otros Países, con otras Naciones en toda Nuestramérica. Y las amenazas continuas de los europeos que se han convertido en instrumento de la Política norteamericana.
Pero quiero concluir con la siguiente Reflexión: “Pensemos todos, Hermanos nicaragüenses, y se lo digo a la gente que está en la Pobreza, a la gente que es sector medio, a los que tienen buenos negocios, a los que tienen una situación económica ya más elevada, a los que tienen más riqueza, a los grandes Empresarios, a los inversionistas, se los digo a todos ellos, ¿qué sería Nicaragua sin esa Paz recuperada? Y la garantía de la Paz en Nicaragua han sido y serán el Pueblo con toda su Conciencia y sus Instituciones: ¡El Ejército de Nicaragua y la Policía Nacional!
Por eso insistimos, nuestra organización en el Campo de las Instituciones Armadas son para proteger la Paz en Nicaragua, para defender la Paz en Nicaragua, no para agredir a nadie. Eso explica por qué el Ejército, nuestras Fuerzas Armadas, la Policía, tienen muy buena relaciones con la población, y la población sabe que es la forma de que juntos defendamos la Paz.
Pero está claro que cuando se cuenta ya con un Ejército sólido, con un Ejército muy bien preparado, muy bien disciplinado, y leal con la Patria, leal con el Pueblo, entonces tenemos un Ejército que es garantía de la Paz para el Trabajo, garantía de la Paz para la Educación, garantía de la Paz para la Salud, garantía de la Paz para las inversiones nacionales y extranjeras, garantía de la Paz para el desarrollo de Programas de Salud, de Programas de Educación, de creación de nuevas Escuelas.
Estamos hablando de Obras para la Vida garantizadas por el Ejército de Nicaragua, y por lo tanto, Herman@s nicaragüenses es importante que valoremos, ustedes que bien conocen la Historia de nuestro País, que valoremos lo que significa la Paz y lo que significan Instituciones que son fundamentales para garantizar la Paz.
El Ejército es una Organización fundamental para garantizar la Paz, defender la Soberanía del País, combatir el Narcotráfico y el Crimen Organizado, para cooperar en las actividades productivas, acompañar en las actividades productivas a los Campesinos. Es decir, es un Ejército que no se anda desplazando para matar, sino que es un Ejército que se desplaza para cooperar, para ayudar y darle seguridad lógicamente a la Población junto con la Policía, de que no van a estar siendo víctimas de crímenes, de asesinatos, de robos.
Esa es la Reflexión que nos tenemos que hacer todos, Hermanos nicaragüenses: Valoremos lo que significa la Paz, y valoremos lo que significan estas Instituciones. ¡Sin estas Instituciones no habría Paz en Nicaragua!

Beloved Nicaraguans, Families of this Blessed and Free Land. On a day like today, 51 years ago, the henchmen, the assassins, of the Yankee Army here in Nicaragua, which was Somoza’s Army, on September 3rd 1971, in La Tronca, Matagalpa, murdered a beloved Brother who lives in our hearts, who lives in the Songs of the People, a Peasant Leader who had managed to survive Pancasán, and later they captured him with other Compañeros and murdered them: Bernardino Díaz Ochoa, a Hero of our nation, a Peasant Hero, an indomitable fighter.

Beloved Brothers, Corps of Generals and Senior Officers, Members of the Military Council of the Nicaraguan Army; Officers of the Nicaraguan Army in the honorable condition of Retirement; Members of the National High Command of the National Police; Ministers, Directors of Autonomous Entities; Mayors; Officials of State and Government Institutions; Representatives of Sectors and Entities.
Relatives of our General Sandino; Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps; recently promoted Officers and their beloved Families; Relatives of Officers Fallen in the Line of Duty; Members of Troops of the Military Units of the Nicaraguan Army; Women and Men of the Media, and Special Guests.
This is the 43rd Anniversary of the Nicaraguan Army, an Army already consolidated, an Army with a Strength derived from the long History that we covered yesterday and that has been forging this Army which today is a steadfast, solid, well-prepared Army, willing to assume all the tasks that the conditions of the country demand.
I speak from this place to the peasants who are there on the banks of the Coco River, who sow their crops there, who may have a few livestock, who have their economic, commercial activities. They are communities that go along the Coco River where they have Waspam as their municipal capital there, and then there is Cabo Gracias a Dios.
How much has been achieved and continues to be done in that incredible work that goes with the Highway, going in the direction of the intersections between Waspam and Bilwi; a highway not built with gravel, but one built with concrete. The bridges that are being installed along that Highway, bridges that no one could imagine ever seeing built.
The Brothers and Sisters of the Coast were marginalized Brothers and Sisters, and it was the Revolution that began to integrate them, the Revolutionary Government integrating them, in difficult conditions, because they were conditions of war after the Triumph of the Revolution.
And you can see the value of Peace… In the way that we installed a New Phase of Peace, from 2007 to 2018, Streets, Highways, Housing were multiplying; Schools, Health Posts, Health Centers, Hospitals were multiplying; support for Peasant families, training for Peasant families to raise the productivity of Basic Grains, to raise productivity in Livestock, to raise productivity in rearing swine, in all those activities of Peasant families production, was multiplying.
And that Period of Peace allowed us to build the highway to San Carlos. That highway was a dream, it was a promise of all time, and we made that highway to San Carlos a reality.
Then we started working on the highway to Pearl Lagoon, to Bluefields, all that area, one that would link up with the Pacific and allow more economic development along those areas where thousands of Peasant Families worked with great determination, and now with the highway the Programs could arrive, the supplies could arrive, and they could facilitate trade to move merchandise, products to Managua, and take products from Managua to there as well.
It is the first time in history that this area of the Caribbean has been integrated, the capital of the Autonomous Region of the Southern Caribbean for the first time in History has been joined via a highway. Before then we know very well what the route was, either by plane, with very high costs, or by the Rama River, and transport by the Rama River was also expensive, it was expensive and slow, because it meant sailing along the Rama River in order to reach Bluefields, because there were no Highways, yes, there was no Road to the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, much less were there these Roads and these gigantic Bridges that we are now building to the North Caribbean Coast.
I look at those Bridges and I find it incredible, for they are Bridges of the highest quality, Bridges of enormous length, and that naturally leads to more Life, leads to more economic activity, leads to Education, leads to Health Care, because it allows for the installation of Schools, of Health Posts, in those Communities, in those Areas where before you could not access them unless it was by very long journeys overland, or by launches, because on the Caribbean Coast there are many Municipalities, Communities that are isolated and can only be reached by river or by sea.
This is a real Revolution in transport, for the benefit of the Economy, for the benefit of Health Care, for the benefit of Education, because how can you build Schools when there were not even Roads and Highways. And I talk about the Caribbean now, because the truth is that we Nicaraguans are privileged to be taking this extraordinary step, where the construction of a large Hospital there in the Caribbean, a Hospital of the first rank, is now well advanced. And the fishing industry, encouraging fishing in those areas of the Caribbean.
And then too, if we travel now through the Central Area of our Country and the Pacific Area, you can count the Roads that have been built, that were built and some that we even inaugurated, such as the Overpass here, in the midst of the coup, in 2018. Here the work never stopped! The attempted coup d’état and the terrorism failed to stop the Spirit of Work of Nicaraguans.
Of course, there was a shock that hindered Projects that could have gone faster, because the coup promoters and their terrorism are enemies of the poor. They don’t want schools for the poor, they don’t want health care for the poor, they don’t want food for the poor. They want everything just for themselves. But here we have a Revolutionary, Christian Practice, which is Solidarity, which is a Christian Principle, of loving one another as ourselves.
And the number of houses we have built from 2007 to date. And that we keep building. And now more thousands of Housing Units will be built with the Cooperation of the Sister People’s Republic of China. And we will also continue to build thousands of homes with the resources of the Nicaraguan State, together with the Municipalities, via the Bismarck Martínez Program.
So you can see, fellow Nicaraguans who are listening to us throughout Nicaragua, what allowed us to advance so much? Peace! And why is it that they tried to destroy what we were building, why did they destroy it? Because they have always been destroyers, in the 80s they mined our Ports, destroyed oil storage centers; what happened recently in Cuba now was an accident, but here it was caused by the CIA, CIA Agents placed bombs there to cause that fire so that we ran out of oil.
You can see very well all of you, what would have happened if we had not stopped the terrorist onslaught. Nicaragua would be at war right now, destroyed, but we could not allow that to happen and order was reinstated, as it should be restored, so order was restored!
And when order was restored, when the barricades disappeared where women, children, men, police officers, and people who were not police were murdered, where they were set on fire, where they were garrotted, tortured, we could not allow those barbaric acts to continue as they had done to the applause of the oligarchy.
Because the oligarchy which until that moment had maintained a Great Alliance with the Government and with the Workers, simply, when it came to adjusting salaries so as to fund Social Security, which meant touching the pockets of the rich, of the capitalists, then they made a break and carried out already premeditated plans, giving in to pressures and threats from the Yankee Government, that if they did not break their alliance with the Sandinista Government, then Sanctions would be applied to them.
Many of these business people who turned against us after having been in alliance with us and having very good relations, were forced to do so because the Yankees threatened to freeze funds they had in the United States, and therefore destroy their companies and their businesses.
They even went to the extreme of threatening them also not to allow many of these business people’s children who were studying or are studying in the United States, they were not going to allow them to continue studying and that they were going to expel them from the United States; that is to say , a totally criminal and cowardly attitude on the part of the Yankees.
But order was restored, and there it was very important the support of the Army guarding strategic points that they were trying to destroy, and they even had medicine warehouses as a target, they had them as a target to destroy them. And with the Army covering strategic points, the Police waging a heroic struggle, because one of the conditions set by that those leading, the ones who were organizing and directing the coup attempt was that the Police stayed off the streets.
So we said: Well, maybe they don’t want the police to go out, perhaps they are afraid and they don’t want the police to attack them, so okay, let the Police to stay in their stations. And what did they do? They started attacking the police stations every day, every day, and the Police maintained their discipline, when their Duty was to react and control those who were attacking the Police Stations, every day.
In the end, there was no choice but to tell the police that order had to be maintained, because so much crime could no longer be tolerated, the destruction of the economy could not be allowed. The coup promoters had Central America blocked, yes, because by blocking the highways here and having obstacles in the cities here, of course the transport of goods from the other Central American countries was hindered, or they were trapped there for days, for weeks, and naturally objecting with every reason to do so.
In the end there was no alternative, as Rugama said, but to fight, to impose order, according to the Law, according to the Constitution, because that is mandated by the Constitution of any country in the World. And there the Police, along with the Volunteer Police, quickly cleared the barricades and captured the criminals, or some of the criminals.
They were a tough few months! What must many Nicaraguans have thought? That now we were going backwards. But that moment, what it did was fill our people with more strength, more courage, more creativity, and we resumed our work again with even greater endeavor to recover the Economy, to stabilize productive activities and continue building Roads, continue building Highways.
And COVID came, and we didn’t stop, we kept working, we kept working and the Nicaraguan economy managed to stabilize and then grow again. And today, Thank God, we have a growing Economy, where Schools, Health Posts, Maternal Shelters for Women are multiplying; there is, Entrepreneurship, with Youth everywhere involved in entrepreneurial activities.
And there is Joy in Nicaragua, of course there is Joy, this is a Country full of Joy, full of Hope, and this causes bitterness and poisons even more those who want to see Nicaragua destroyed. They are the ones who live pleading for the Yankees to destroy economic relations with Nicaragua once and for all.
But Nicaragua has economic relations with the whole world, and we have now established relations with the country that has had the fastest growing economy in the history of mankind, the People’s Republic of China, and we thank the People’s Republic of China for its Solidarity with the Nicaraguan People.
And of course we count also on the Solidarity of the fraternal Peoples of Venezuela, Cuba, the Peoples of ALBA; as well as the cooperation, the exchange that we have with other Countries, with other Nations throughout Our America. And too the continuous threats of the Europeans who have become an instrument of US policy.
But I want to conclude with the following Reflection“ “Let’s all consider, Nicaraguan brothers and sisters, and I say this to people who are in Poverty, to people who are in the middle class, to those who own good businesses, to those who have an much better economic situation, to those who have more wealth, to the big business people, to investors, I say to all of them, what would Nicaragua be without the Peace we have recovered? And the guarantee of Peace in Nicaragua has been and will be the People with all its consciousness and with its Institutions: The Nicaraguan Army and the National Police!
That is why we insist, our organization in the area of our Armed Institutions is to protect Peace in Nicaragua, to defend Peace in Nicaragua, not to attack anyone. That explains why the Army, our Armed Forces, our Police, have very good relations with the population, and the population knows that this is the way for us to defend Peace together.
And it is clear now that we have a solid army, a very well-prepared, very well-disciplined army, loyal to the nation, loyal to the People, and then too we have an Army that is a guarantee of Peace enabling Work, a guarantee of Peace enabling Education, a guarantee of Peace enabling Health, a guarantee of Peace enabling domestic and foreign investments, a guarantee of Peace enabling the development of Health Programs, Education Programs and the creation of new Schools.
We are talking about activities ensuring Life, guaranteed by the Nicaraguan Army, and therefore, Nicaraguan Brothers and Sisters, it is important that we value, you who know the history of our Country very well, that we value what Peace means and the meaning of those Institutions fundamental to guarantee Peace.
The Army is a fundamental Organization guaranteeing Peace, defending the Sovereignty of the Country, combating Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime, cooperating in productive activities, accompanying Peasants in productive activities. That is, it is an Army not mobilized for killing, but an Army mobilized to cooperate, to help and of course ensure security to the Population along with the police, so that they will not fall victim to crimes, murders, robberies.
That is the Reflection we must all make, Nicaraguan Brothers and Sisters : Let us value the meaning of Peace, and let us value what these Institutions mean. Without these institutions there would be no Peace in Nicaragua!
Beloved Brothers and Sisters, beloved Comrades who are about to march right now on this 43rd Anniversary, in tribute to our People, we say to you: Thank you Brothers and Sisters, thank you Compañeros and Compañeras, thank you to your Families, thank you to your Commanders, thank you General Julio César Avilés Castillo!
