GRUN rechaza la decisión del secretariado del Fondo Verde del Clima
El Gobierno de Nicaragua, repudia y rechaza la decisión del secretariado del Fondo Verde del Clima quien, a través de procesos y procedimientos no transparentes, no éticos, prácticas no éticas, han cancelado el financiamiento al proyecto BIOCLIMA, concebido para contribuir a la protección y defensa de las reservas de biosfera de Bosawas e Indio Maíz, a través de la reducción de la deforestación, el aumento de la reforestación y el fortalecimiento de la resiliencia de estas importantes reservas.
El pueblo nicaragüense y sus instituciones han sido ejemplares en la misión de cuido de la Madre Tierra. Nicaragua fue el primer país suscriptor de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos de la Madre Tierra y la Humanidad, siendo también consecuentes con el reconocimiento de los derechos de propiedad de las comunidades originarias y afrodescendientes, alcanzando reconocimientos internacionales por haber demarcado y titulado 25 territorios de los pueblos originarios, con un área equivalente a 38,426 kilómetros cuadrados que equivale al 31.6% de nuestro territorio nacional.
Hemos entregado a las comunidades originarias, a los pueblos originarios, el 31.6% de nuestro territorio, 38,426 kilómetros. Qué más demostración de fortalecimiento de los derechos de las comunidades y pueblos originarios de nuestro país.
Desde la presidencia de nuestro comandante Daniel, se ha realizado la mayor inversión social y de infraestructura en toda la historia de nuestra Nicaragua, para garantizar la mejora de calidad de vida de todas las familias nicaragüenses, en todos los hogares, y fundamentalmente de aquellas que fueron históricamente excluidas. Hemos desarrollado programas de educación, salud, viviendas, agua y saneamiento, seguridad ciudadana, fomento de la pequeña y mediana producción, energía, vialidad, entre otros; con un esfuerzo sostenido de protección y defensa de los recursos naturales, el medio ambiente y la biodiversidad.
Por lo tanto, el Gobierno de Nicaragua, la República de Nicaragua, denunciamos las medidas agresivas, coercitivas y unilaterales de esta institución, con lo que han violentado los principios y acuerdos suscritos ante la comunidad internacional; Acuerdos suscritos para defender la naturaleza, la adaptación y mitigación ante el cambio climático, y para velar por la transformación de la vida de los pueblos originarios y afrodescendientes, sin dejar a nadie atrás.
Demandamos, exigimos, del Fondo Verde del Clima garantizar la movilización de los recursos comprometidos por la comunidad internacional, y que han sido arrebatados a los pueblos originarios y afrodescendientes de nuestra Nicaragua. Movilizar esos recursos para atender los desafíos y las múltiples crisis que enfrenta la humanidad como el cambio climático provocado por los países más ricos, que son los mismos que agreden a nuestros Pueblos Originarios, Mískitos, Mayagnas, Creoles, Garífonas, Ramas, Ulwas, Sumos y Mestizos.
Los mismos países ricos son los que están agrediendo, los que han agredido, los que han pretendido acabar con los derechos de cada uno de estos pueblos y comunidades originarias que son parte de Nicaragua; Pueblos y comunidades originarias de las que estamos sumamente orgullosos, porque somos nosotros mismos.

The Government of Nicaragua repudiates and rejects the decision of the Secretariat of the Green Climate Fund who, through non-transparent, and unethical processes, procedures and practices, have canceled the financing for the BIOCLIMA Project, conceived to contribute to the protection and defense of the Bosawas and Indio Maíz biosphere reserves, by reducing deforestation, increasing reforestation and strengthening the resilience of these important reserves.
The Nicaraguan People and its Institutions have been exemplary in complying with the mission of caring for Mother Earth. Nicaragua was the first country to subscribe to the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth and Humanity, being also consistent with the recognition of the property rights of the Indigenous and Afro-descendant Communities, achieving international recognition for having demarcated and titled 25 territories of the Native Peoples, with an area equal to 38,426 square kilometers, which is equivalent to 31.6% of the National Territory.
We have delivered to the Indigenous Communities, to the Indigenous Peoples, 31.6% of our Territory, 38,426 kilometers. That is a demonstration of strengthening the Rights of the Indigenous Communities and Peoples of our Country.
Since the Presidency of Comandante Daniel Ortega Saavedra, the largest social and infrastructure investment has been made in the entire history of our Nicaragua, in order to guarantee the improvement of the quality of Life of all Nicaraguan Families, in all Homes, and fundamentally of those that were historically excluded. We have developed Programs for Education, Health, Housing, Water and Sanitation, Citizen Security, Promotion of Small and Medium Production, Energy, Roads, among others; with a sustained effort to protect and defend Natural Resources, the Environment and Biodiversity.
Therefore, the Government of Nicaragua, the Republic of Nicaragua, denounce the aggressive, coercive and unilateral measures of this Institution, which has violated the Principles and Agreements signed before the International Community, Agreements signed to defend Nature, adaptation and mitigation in the face of Climate Change, and ensure the transformation of the Lives of Indigenous and Afro-descendant Peoples, without leaving no one behind.
We demand and require that the Green Climate Fund guarantee the mobilization of the resources committed by the International Community, those that have been taken from the Indigenous and Afro-descendant Peoples of our Nicaragua. Mobilize these resources to address the challenges and multiple crises that Humanity faces, such as Climate Change caused by the richest countries, which are the same ones that attack our Indigenous, Miskito, Mayagna, Creole, Garífuna, Rama, Ulwas, Sumus and Mestizos Peoples.
The same rich countries are the ones that are attacking, those that have attacked, those that have tried to end the Rights of each of these Indigenous Peoples and Communities that are part of Nicaragua; Indigenous Peoples and Communities of which we are extremely proud, because they are ourselves.
