Y EL ENJUICIAMIENTO DE LOS RESPONSABLES
DE DELITOS DE DERECHO INTERNACIONAL MÁS GRAVES, COMETIDOS EN LA REPÚBLICA ÁRABE SIRIA DESDE MARZO 2011

Señor Presidente,
Nuestra Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas continúa siendo objeto de politización, de doble rasero y de la selectividad promovida por los países occidentales, en contra de países soberanos e independientes.
Con la creación de este supuesto Mecanismo Internacional, Imparcial e Independiente, sin consultar ni cooperar con la República Árabe Siria, la Asamblea General actuó más allá de las competencias que le confiere la Carta de Naciones Unidas, en violación al derecho y el principio de Soberanía e Igualdad Soberana de todos los Miembros, así como la no Injerencia en los Asuntos Internos de los Estados.
El Gobierno de la República Árabe Siria, ha demostrado poseer plena capacidad con sus instituciones legales y judiciales, sin interferencias externas, ni presiones políticas y financieras para una adecuada rendición de cuentas.
Este supuesto Mecanismo continúa recibiendo financiamiento del presupuesto de Naciones Unidas, aún en momentos de crisis de liquidez, evidenciando que estos recursos se están utilizando para avanzar en la agenda occidental en la agresión, aislamiento y hostilidades hacia nuestros Pueblos soberanos.
Señor Presidente,
Nicaragua reafirma su total Solidaridad con el Pueblo y Gobierno de la Hermana República Árabe Siria y rechaza este mal llamado Mecanismo Internacional.
En este sentido, deseamos dejar constancia de que rechazamos la emisión de dicho Informe y la creación del Mecanismo en referencia. Nicaragua considera que la solución del conflicto sirio, debe darse por medio del diálogo, la negociación, para alcanzar un acuerdo político que refleje la voluntad del Pueblo y Gobierno sirio, con el apoyo de la Comunidad Inter-nacional, sin intervención extranjera.
Nicaragua en su momento, votó en contra de este polémico y politizado mecanismo, dado que, como Pueblo amante de la Paz y respetuoso del Derecho Internacional y de los Derechos Humanos, no reconocemos ni aceptamos iniciativas que violen la soberanía de nuestros Pueblos, incluido la selectividad y politización de los Derechos Humanos.
Señor Presidente,
Llamamos a la promoción de una mayor cooperación y colaboración con el Pueblo y Gobierno de Siria, eliminando las ilegales, criminales e inhumanas, medidas coercitivas unilaterales, que son un crimen de lesa humanidad que afectan la Vida del Pueblo sirio, obstaculizando así la labor de las Naciones Unidas y sus Organismos en Siria.
Para abordar la situación en Siria, se debe tener un enfoque humanitario constructivo y objetivo, bajo el liderazgo sirio, sin injerencias externas, permitiendo la reconstrucción de lo que ha sido destruido por el terrorismo, por el intervencionismo, por la agresión extranjera, así como, el retorno voluntario y digno de los desplazados y refugiados a sus hogares.
Reiteramos nuestro llamado a la intensificación de los esfuerzos a nivel nacional, regional e internacional, en apoyo al desarrollo en Siria, a su reconstrucción y a vivir en Paz, conforme lo disponga el Pueblo sirio.

Mr. President,
Our United Nations General Assembly continues to be the object of politicization, double standards and selectivity promoted by Western countries, against sovereign and independent countries.
With the creation of this supposed International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism, without consulting or cooperating with the Syrian Arab Republic, the General Assembly acted beyond the powers conferred on it by the Charter of the United Nations, in violation of the right and the principle of Sovereignty and Sovereign Equality of all Members, as well as non-interference in the Internal Affairs of States.
The Government of the Syrian Arab Republic has demonstrated full capacity with its legal and judicial institutions, without external interference, nor political and financial pressures for adequate accountability.
This supposed Mechanism continues to receive funding from the United Nations budget, even at a time of liquidity crisis, demonstrating that these resources are being used to advance the Western agenda in aggression, isolation and hostility towards our sovereign Peoples.
Mr. President,
Nicaragua reaffirms its total Solidarity with the People and Government of the Sister Syrian Arab Republic and rejects this misnamed International Mechanism.
In this regard, we wish to place on record that we reject the issuance of such a Report and the creation of the Mechanism in reference. Nicaragua believes that the solution of the Syrian conflict should be reached through dialogue and negotiation, to achieve a political agreement reflecting the will of the Syrian People and Government, with the support of the International Community, without foreign intervention.
Nicaragua at the time, voted against this controversial and politicized mechanism, given that, as a peace-loving People, respectful of International Law and Human Rights, we do not recognize or accept initiatives that violate the sovereignty of our Peoples, especially via the selective use and politicization of Human Rights.
Mr. President,
We call for the promotion of greater cooperation and collaboration with the People and Government of Syria, eliminating illegal, criminal and inhuman unilateral coercive measures, which are a crime against humanity that affect the life of the Syrian People, thus hindering the work of the United Nations and its Agencies in Syria.
To address the situation in Syria, a constructive and objective humanitarian approach must be taken, under Syrian leadership, without external interference, allowing the reconstruction of what has been destroyed by terrorism, by interventionism, by foreign aggression, as well as the voluntary and dignified return of displaced people and refugees to their homes.
We reiterate our call for the intensification of efforts at the national, regional and international levels, in support of development in Syria, its reconstruction so as to live in peace, according to the wishes of the Syrian people.
