Juventud Nicaragüense; Muchachos, Muchachas, llenos de Amor y llenos de Alegría; Estudiantes de estas Tierras Benditas, desde los que están iniciando las Primeras Letras, hasta los que están ya culminando sus estudios de Secundaria.
También aquí están presentes los Estudiantes que están en las Carreras Superiores, donde luego se incorporarán ustedes, Jóvenes Estudiantes de Secundaria, como un Derecho, un Deber para con el Pueblo nicaragüense, adquirir más Conocimiento en el campo que ustedes decidan. Salud, Educación, Comunicación, Construcción, Ingeniería, todas las Carreras están disponibles para la Juventud nicaragüense, todas, Medicina, Salud, sí. Y están disponibles, así como la Educación Secundaria; no se paga por la Educación, la Educación es una obligación del Estado garantizárselas, igual que la Salud.
Y esta Antorcha que la recibió la Juventud, la recibieron ustedes en la zona del territorio fronterizo con Honduras, ahí en Las Manos. ¿Y quién entregó la Antorcha con jóvenes hondureños? La trajo una querida Compañera, la Vicepresidenta de Honduras, Doris Gutiérrez, que la conocimos desde hace muchos años ahí en la lucha y ella dando la batalla por su Pueblo y por nuestro Pueblo también, y dando la batalla, como la dio Morazán, por la Unidad Centroamericana.
Esta es una fecha emblemática para toda Centroamérica, porque para estos días hace 167 años ya se estaban dando los combates contra los invasores yanquis encabezados por William Walker, y donde Nicaragua, uniendo esfuerzos también con otros Pueblos Centroamericanos, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, estando todos convencidos que si el yanqui se apoderaba de Nicaragua, donde ya para estos días hace 167 años el yanqui ya era Presidente de Nicaragua, William Walker, imagínense, Presidente de Nicaragua, acompañado del Embajador yanqui.
Y, si eso pasaba, sabían los otros Pueblos Centroamericanos que luego se apoderaría de todo Centroamérica y se haría Presidente de Centroamérica, y lo primero que haría en todos esos Pueblos Hermanos es lo que ya había hecho en Nicaragua: Su primer Decreto fue establecer la esclavitud, como buen imperialista.
Y para estos días ya se estaba combatiendo, ya se estaban dando luchas en diferentes puntos de nuestro País, ya estaban combatiendo también Hermanos Centroamericanos. Fue una Unidad Antiimperialista, Antiexpansionista la que se dio en ese momento, y se logró finalmente derrotar al invasor yanqui, pasando por esa fecha histórica que ya viene, que es la Batalla de San Jacinto.
La Batalla de San Jacinto moralizó a los Luchadores Centroamericanos, porque entonces vieron que era posible derrotar al yanqui, aun con las piedras, como lo hizo nuestro Hermano, nuestro Héroe, Andrés Castro.
Ahora, va a continuar su recorrido la Antorcha de la Libertad y se dirige ya buscando hacia la zona de Peñas Blancas, Costa Rica… Costa Rica que tuvo un papel muy importante en esa Batalla y que tuvo un Héroe también, que murió en esa Batalla.
Costa Rica tenía, fíjense, aun cuando dicen que en Costa Rica no hay Ejército, no le llaman Ejército, pero sí tiene una Fuerza Militar para defender al País en situaciones como esas, para combatir el Narcotráfico… Costa Rica fue el primer País que, en momentos que se produce la invasión de los yanquis, tenía el Ejército mejor preparado de Centroamérica, y habían logrado con Inglaterra desarrollar una relación, donde los ingleses les dieron experiencias, les dieron capacidades, y era el Ejército más organizado, mejor organizado de Centroamérica.
Aquí en Nicaragua más bien los nicaragüenses estaban enfrentados, Liberales contra Conservadores. Eso no puede volver a pasar, no puede volver a pasar. Por eso, luchando por la Paz y defendiendo la Paz garantizamos, a través de la Educación, porque se necesita Paz para que las Familias puedan mandar con tranquilidad a los muchachos a la Escuela; con más Educación, con más Conocimiento, con más Cultura, con más Deporte, entonces no volverán a haber enfrentamientos entre Herman@s nicaragüenses y reinará la Paz para siempre.

Nicaraguan Youth; boys, girls, full of Love and full of Joy; students of these Blessed Lands, from those who are learning their alphabet, to those who are already finishing high school .
Also present here are the students in higher education, where later you, young high school students, will join as a Right, a Duty to the Nicaraguan People, to acquire more knowledge in the field that you decide. Health, Education, Communication, Construction, Engineering, all careers are available for Nicaragua’s Youth, all, Medicine, Health, yes. They are available, as well as Secondary Education; education is free, education is an obligation of the State to guarantee, just like health care.
And this Torch that the Youth received, you received it in the area of the border with Honduras, there in your hands. And who handed over the Torch along with young Hondurans? It was handed over by a dear Compañera, Vice President of Honduras, Doris Gutiérrez, who we have known for many years there in the struggle where she gave battle for her People and for our People, giving battle, as Morazán did, for Central American unity.
This is an emblematic date for all of Central America, because in these days 167 years ago combats were already taking place against the Yankee invaders led by William Walker, when Nicaragua, joining efforts too with other Central American Peoples, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, all being convinced that if the Yankee took over Nicaragua, when already in these days 167 years ago the Yankee was already President of Nicaragua, William Walker, imagine that, the President of Nicaragua, accompanied by the Yankee Ambassador.
And, when that happened, the other Central American Peoples knew that he would later take over all of Central America and become President of Central America, and the first thing he would do in all those fraternal Peoples is what he had already done in Nicaragua: his first decree was to establish slavery, as a good imperialist.
And in these days there were already combats, there were already skirmishes taking place in different parts of our country, our Central American brothers and sisters were also fighting. It was an anti-Imperialist, anti-Expansionist unity that took place at that time, and it was finally possible to defeat the Yankee invader, as a result of that historical date now coming, which is the Battle of San Jacinto.
The Battle of San Jacinto inspired the Central American combatants, because they saw then that it was possible to defeat the Yankee, even with stones, as our Brother, our Hero, Andrés Castro, did.
Now, the Torch of Freedom is going to continue its journey and is now heading towards the area of Peñas Blancas, Costa Rica… Costa Rica that played a very important role in that battle and that had a Hero too, who died in that battle.
Costa Rica had, mind you, even though they say that there is no army in Costa Rica, they don’t call it an army, but it does have a military force to defend the country in situations such as fighting drug trafficking… Costa Rica was the first country that, at the time of the Yankee invasion, had the best prepared army in Central America, and they had managed to develop a relationship with England, where the English gave them experience, gave them capabilities, and it was the most organized, best organized army in Central America.
Here in Nicaragua, instead, Nicaraguans were pitted against each other, Liberals against Conservatives. That can’t happen again, it can’t happen again. That is why, fighting for Peace and defending Peace, we guarantee, through education, because Peace is needed so that families can safely send their children to school; with more education, with more knowledge, with more culture, with more sport, then there will be no more conflicts between Nicaraguan brothers and sisters and Peace will reign forever.
